The Young Readers of Los Altos Neighborhood library sewed quilts for American service people, and two of these Young Readers presented them to Virginia Sanchez, Brewitt’s Department Librarian and US Navy Reservist, on Saturday, November 7th, in honor of Veteran’s Day. The Young Readers worked under the guidance of Pam Carlson, Children’s Librarian at Los Altos Neighborhood Library. The Young Readers making the presentation were Ruby and Jackson. The other children involved were Connor, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Carolyn, Michael, Victoria, Jessica, Amanda and Kelsey. Special thanks to the Moms, and the Los Altos Volunteers! The quilts are currently part of the Veteran’s Day Display at Brewitt Neighborhood Library, after which they will be sent to the troops in Afghanistan with the next batch of book donations to the Camp Blackhorse Library.
